Thailand ~ Eating Live Stuff...

My friend Goodstuff has been showing me around and feeding me. I am having so much fun here in Thailand, but they eat some weird stuff. I kinda want a hamburger...

~Goodstuffs Blog~

LIL ZEEBERS was
invited to party with the bad boys and wanted to help with the shopping...

Zeebers agreed that this was not really beer food but wanted a sugar rush...

Zeebers wanted to get the puppy dogs some beer snacks so that they would not feel left out

We bought a new clay pot to make a special Thai dish just for Zeebers

Dancing Shirmps, (goong dten [กู้งเต้น])
so good and so good for you!

You might think that’s just a fancy name for the dish until you realize it’s literal.  Yes the shrimp are actually dancing!  How so?  Basically they are scooped right out of a fish tank where they are swimming around and plunked right into a pot.  Then they are immediately mixed with a sauce mainly consisting of chili peppers.  So yeah, they’re dancing alright.  You probably would be too if you were suffocating while having chilies smeared all over your body. Anyway, Zeebers try not to think about their torture as he considered   they’re very small, just babies, with head, tail, antennae, everything.

This morning he was a little worried about the grass shrimp. He was essentially eating raw seafood, from maybe some dirty water.

กุ้งเต้น
Goong Dten
(Dancing Shrimps)

Prepare:
2 cups small (live) freshwater shrimp
5 cloves garlic (sliced)
2 lemongrasses (sliced thinly)
2 tbsp. sliced scallion
2 tbsp. sliced coriander
2 tbsp. sliced mud onion
4 tsp. dried pepper powder
3 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. fish sauce

prepare - it's and easy dish

1) put the live grass shrimp in the clay pot and cover. Careful, they will be jumping around

2) mix all the other ingredients. See, easy. No need for cooking

3) Torture the baby shrimps by adding the mixture to the clay pot and give it a good shake.

4) Listen to the clay pot. when you hear that the aren't banging their heads against walls (like popcorn), it's time to chow down!  Bon apetit!

Exploring Thailand

WOW, look what the cat dragged in. It's Zeebers the Hobo Troll!

ZEEBERS did his one night in Bangkok. From the receipts found in his pockets we have learned that
young Zeebers had a good time

They're known as the "katoey", "ladyboys" or transgender people, and they are part of Thai culture. Katoeys are found across Thailand — in urban areas, in rural villages, in cabarets and restaurants, in films, newspapers and, yes, on the stages of beauty pageants. Here's a look at the "Miss Tiffiny Unlimited Sexy Star Contest," in the beach resort of Pattaya, which drew an television audience of some 15 million people.

One of the world's most famous red-light districts, Patpong is where it all started (Thailand's Go-Go culture). It has even been immortalised in a James Bond chase-sequence. Its two parallel side-streets, found between Silom and Surawongse Roads (Bangkok), house around 100 neon-lit strip bars offering risque sex shows, purchasable pole-dancers and post-op ladyboys.

ZEEBERS blames his actions on Beer Chang. Thailand’s number one selling beer is Beer Chang, which you can spot by its distinctive green label adorned with two elephants. In Thai, Chang means elephant and that’s a good name for this beer since Chang Classic really packs a punch at 6.4%, especially when served in the common 630 milliliter size. That’s about double the size and double the strength of a typical light beer in the US, so four times the alcohol per bottle! Beer Chang is also a lager, though the malt flavor is a little more intense than Singha. Beer Chang is very popular, but often it's not available in nicer restaurants.

Young Zeebers earning merits on Vesak Day

LIL ZEEBERS was a little afraid to cross this bridge. He was told that crocodiles had escaped during Thailand floods

See the 555?  To say five in Thailand the word sounds like "Ha". therefore, 555 sounds like LOL
